Unveil

See the signals behind the score.

Unveil combines historical job-listing activity and observable company hiring signals to provide additional context before you apply.

  1. 01

    Job detection

Unveil recognizes supported job pages while you browse supported company career websites and applicant tracking systems.

    • Workday
    • SuccessFactors
    • Phenom
    • SmartRecruiters
  2. 02

    Database matching

The extension checks whether the job or the company exists in the Unveil database. Coverage is limited to tracked companies and supported platforms, so not every listing on the internet can be checked.

  3. 03

    Historical analysis

Where a match exists, Unveil looks at observable signals in the data it has collected.

    • Listing duration
    • Repost patterns
    • Previous appearances
    • Company posting history
    • Job-description characteristics
    • Currently available company-level data
  4. 04

    Risk score

Unveil returns a ghost job risk score from 1–100. A high score does not mean a listing is fake. It means the observed data contains more warning signals associated with ghost job risk.

Risk levels

Every score maps to a level that describes how many warning signals the available data contains.

Low Risk
Few warning signals are visible in the data Unveil currently has.
Medium Risk
Some signals suggest the listing is worth a closer look.
High Risk
The observed history contains several patterns associated with ghost job risk.

Not every score has the same amount of evidence.

Confidence reflects how much relevant historical data Unveil has for a given job or company, and how well that data fits the listing you are viewing.

A company with a longer tracked posting history can support a more grounded assessment than one Unveil has only recently started following.
