Terms of Use
Effective date: September 7, 2026
These Terms govern your use of the Unveil Chrome extension, website, and related services.
By installing or using Unveil, you agree to these Terms.
1. What Unveil does
Unveil helps job seekers assess potential ghost-job risk.
The extension analyzes job listing information and compares it with information available in Unveil's database.
Depending on the available data, Unveil may provide:
A ghost-job risk score
A confidence level
Risk signals
Information about whether a company or job is tracked
Unveil may also allow users to request support for companies that are not currently tracked.
2. Understanding Unveil results
Unveil's results are automated assessments based on available data and detected patterns.
A high risk score does not prove that a job is a ghost job, fraudulent, inactive, or misleading.
Similarly, a low risk score does not guarantee that a company is actively hiring or that a position will be filled.
Unveil is intended to provide additional information that users can consider alongside their own research and judgment.
3. Company tracking requests
Users may request that Unveil begin tracking unsupported companies.
Submitting a request does not guarantee that the company will be added.
Request volume may be used to help prioritize future company coverage.
To keep this feature reliable, Unveil may apply duplicate-request protection, per-installation limits, IP-based rate limits, and temporary global limits.
4. Acceptable use
You may use Unveil for lawful purposes related to evaluating job opportunities.
You may not:
Artificially increase company request counts
Circumvent rate limits or abuse-prevention systems
Send large volumes of automated requests
Attempt to gain unauthorized access to Unveil systems
Interfere with the operation or security of the service
Misrepresent Unveil scores as verified statements of fact
Use Unveil in violation of applicable law
Access may be limited where necessary to protect the service from abuse or disruption.
5. Availability and accuracy
Unveil aims to provide useful information, but coverage and accuracy depend on available data.
Some companies, career pages, or job listings may not be supported or may not match correctly.
Career websites may also change in ways that affect Unveil's ability to identify or analyze listings.
Unveil may update its scoring methods, matching logic, supported companies, data sources, or other features over time.
6. Third-party websites
Unveil operates on websites and applicant tracking systems provided by third parties.
Unveil does not control those services and is not responsible for their availability, content, hiring practices, or privacy practices.
7. Changes to Unveil
Unveil may add, modify, restrict, suspend, or discontinue features as the service develops.
This may include changes to scoring, supported companies, company requests, technical infrastructure, usage limits, or the user interface.
8. Intellectual property
The Unveil software, design, branding, scoring systems, interfaces, and other original materials remain the property of their respective owner.
These Terms give you permission to use Unveil but do not transfer ownership of the service or its underlying technology.
9. Disclaimer and liability
Unveil is provided as an informational tool.
Users remain responsible for decisions they make about job applications and employment opportunities.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, Unveil is not responsible for losses resulting from reliance on an incorrect, incomplete, or unavailable risk assessment.
Nothing in these Terms limits rights or protections that cannot legally be excluded.
10. Privacy
Information processed through Unveil is handled as described in the Unveil Privacy Policy.
11. Changes to these Terms
These Terms may be updated as Unveil changes.
The current version will be published on the Unveil website with its effective date.
Continued use of Unveil after updated Terms take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms, except where applicable law requires another form of notice or agreement.
